Warranties is an offline Android app developed by Julius Vai (application ID: com.checksaver.app). No account is required. The developer does not receive your warranty records through the app.

About this policy

This policy covers the Warranties Android app and this informational website. It explains what information is stored, what device permissions are used, and what happens when you back up, export or delete your data.

Information you add

Warranty titles, stores, purchase dates, expiry dates, categories, notes, receipt images and documents are stored in the app’s storage on your device. Language and reminder preferences are also saved locally. The app does not send this content to a developer-operated server.

Warranties does not use advertising, analytics or tracking services and does not sell your information. The developer does not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifier through the app.

Device permissions

Camera access is used when you choose to photograph a receipt. The gallery and system file picker let you select images and documents to attach or a backup to import. On older Android versions, storage permissions may be needed to save exported files.

Notification permission is used for warranty reminders generated on your device. You can change the reminder timings in the app and revoke permissions in Android settings. Without notification permission, reminders cannot be shown.

Backups and exported files

Manual backups include the warranties you select and their notes, categories and attachments. Backup files also contain language and reminder preferences as metadata; importing keeps the receiving device’s existing preferences. Backups are JSON files containing encoded attachments, not encrypted files. Store and share them carefully.

Android’s Save dialog lets you choose a destination. If you choose a cloud storage provider, that provider handles the saved file under its own privacy policy. Warranties does not operate a cloud storage or synchronisation service.

Android may independently back up or transfer app data according to your device, Google account and system settings. The developer has no access to these system backups. You can manage them in your device settings.

Exported attachments may be saved to the Documents folder, outside the app’s private storage, where other apps may be able to access them. Documents are opened with an external app you choose. That app handles the opened file under its own policy.

Retention and deletion

Your local records remain on the device until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app. You can remove warranties, notes and attachments within the app. Removing a pending imported item does not delete an existing accepted warranty.

Uninstalling removes the app’s private local data. It does not necessarily remove manual backups, exported files or Android system backups. Delete those separately from their storage locations or through your device settings. Restoring a system backup may bring back previously backed-up data.

Keeping your data safe

The app uses Android app storage for local records and attachments. No storage system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your phone with a screen lock and keep copies of important receipts in a safe place. Manual backups are not encrypted by Warranties.

This website and external services

This website contains no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies and loads its fonts and visual assets locally. It may save your language choice in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it in your browser settings.

The hosting provider may process technical connection data, such as IP addresses and request logs, to serve and secure the website. This is separate from the warranty data stored in the Android app.

Google Play links open Google’s service, which operates under Google’s privacy policy. If you email the developer, your email address and the information you send are used to respond and handle your request; they are not used for advertising.

Children’s privacy

Warranties is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account or send warranty data to the developer. A parent or guardian with questions about information sent by email can contact the developer.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the app or its data handling changes. The updated date will be shown on this page.

For privacy questions or requests concerning information you have sent to the developer, contact Julius Vai at Julius@vai.lt. Local warranty records are not accessible to the developer; you can manage them on your own device.
